The Onyx Athos 5 Wide gives the classic Athos design a broader firebox and the flexibility of multi-fuel burning. It suits a wider fireplace or a larger room, with the same traditional styling and heritage detailing as the standard Athos.

Its fixed multi-fuel grate burns logs or approved smokeless fuels, so you can choose whichever suits your home and supply. A steel body, a cast iron door that swings fully open to 180°, and Cleanburn and Airwash systems combine robust build with clean, efficient burning. It is Ecodesign compliant, A rated and approved for Smoke Control Areas without an extra kit. Contact us to find out more.

Athos and Olympus stoves can take their combustion air from the room or, with the optional outdoor air kit, directly from outside the home.

Standard (room air) – The stove draws air from the room it heats. Your installer will advise whether a fixed air vent is needed under Building Regulations.

Outdoor Air Kit – Ducts air to the stove from outside, which suits well-insulated, airtight homes and helps avoid drawing warm air out of the room.

Onyx Athos 5 Wide Wood Burning / Multi-Fuel Stove

At 575mm wide, 641mm high and 370mm deep, the Athos 5 Wide is the larger of the two Athos models. It is compatible with a 12mm hearth and has a 128mm (5") top or rear flue outlet. An optional outdoor air kit can bring in combustion air from outside the home. A site survey by a qualified solid fuel installer is recommended, and a carbon monoxide alarm must be fitted.

The wider door gives a broad view of the flames through clear glass, kept clean by the Airwash system. Traditional curves are finished with an anodised handle featuring a black knurled grip and champagne accents.

The nominal heat output is 5kW, with a range of 2.5kW to 7kW, at 79.5% efficiency. A convector heat system moves warm air out into the room, and the burn is set by hand using the stove’s air controls, with no power supply needed.
