Onyx Olympus 5 Wood Burning Stove

Sale price£1,695.00

The Onyx Olympus 5 is a wood burning stove with clean, contemporary lines and a refined, understated presence. It is designed for modern interiors, where its simple form sits comfortably in an open-plan space or a minimal fireplace setting.

As a dedicated woodburner, the Olympus 5 is optimised for burning logs, with Cleanburn and Airwash systems for efficient combustion and clear glass. The steel body is paired with a cast iron door that opens a full 180°. It is A+ rated, meets Ecodesign standards and is approved for Smoke Control Areas as standard. Contact us to find out more.

Onyx belongs to the Stovax Heating Group, whose 40-plus years of British design and engineering stand behind every model. Each Onyx stove is developed and tested in the group’s own laboratories.

Olympus stoves can take their combustion air from the room or, with the optional outdoor air kit, directly from outside the home.

Standard (room air) – The stove draws air from the room it heats. Your installer will advise whether a fixed air vent is needed under Building Regulations.

Outdoor Air Kit – Ducts air to the stove from outside, which suits well-insulated, airtight homes and helps avoid drawing warm air out of the room.

Details

The Olympus 5 is 512mm wide, 585mm high and 329mm deep, and suits a 12mm hearth. Its 128mm (5") flue outlet can be taken from the top or rear, and an optional outdoor air kit allows combustion air to be drawn from outside. Onyx recommends a site survey by a qualified solid fuel installer before purchase, and a carbon monoxide alarm is required by law.

Compared with the Athos, the Olympus has a squarer, more modern door with a slightly wider window. Details include an anodised handle with a black knurled grip and champagne ends. The Airwash system helps keep the clear glass free of soot.

Heat output is 4.8kW nominal, from 2kW up to 6kW, at 82% efficiency. The convector heat system warms the room by circulating air as well as through radiant heat. Air controls on the stove regulate the fire; there is no remote and no electrical connection.

Enduring style

Athos and Olympus stoves bring the timeless allure of real fire with the very latest in design and precision engineering.
